I’m so looking forward to seeing you in the studio. To help your body get the most out of our time together -whether we’re working on a deep structural fix or a post-op reset -there is a little guide on how to prepare.
Think of this as 'setting the stage' so your body can really let go.
Drink Up Early : Try to drink a little extra water the day before. When your tissues are well-hydrated, they are much more 'forgiving,' allowing me to work deeper and more effectively into the fascia.
The Five-Minute Breath: Life in London is fast.
I recommend arriving 5 minutes early to our Queen’s Park or Kensal Rise sanctuary. It gives you a moment to switch off your phone, catch your breath, and leave the 'outside world' at the door.
For Deep Tissue/Structural Work : Please wear or bring comfortable, loose clothing or your preferred underwear.
Post-Surgical Clients: Please wear your compression garments as usual; we will work around what feels right for you on the day.
Check-In: If anything has changed with your health or recovery since we last spoke, just let me know when you arrive so I can tailor the session accordingly.
Your body will keep working for the next 24 hours as it finds its new balance. Here’s how to help it along.
You might feel a little 'light' or pleasantly sleepy after a big reset. That’s just your nervous system decompressing. If you can, take it easy for the rest of the day.
Keep Hydrated : Keep that water bottle handy. Our work helps your system flush away metabolic waste, and staying hydrated is the kindest way to help that process along.
Gentle Movement Only : I recommend skipping the high-intensity gym session for 24 hours. Your muscles and joints have been moved into a new space - give them a day to 'settle' there comfortably.
The Evening Ritual:
If you have time, a warm bath with Epsom salts tonight is a lovely way to support your muscles and keep that feeling of ease going.
Magnesium can heavily dehydrate - so ENSURE to drink enough water before and after bathing.
A Note on the 'Healing Response : It’s perfectly normal to feel a bit tender or even a little emotional after deep structural or scar work. You aren’t just a collection of muscles; you’re a whole person. If you have any questions once you’ve left, I’m always just a message away.
